Carte/Card

You’re Sew Special

IMG_3358

Bonjour !

Hello !

To make this card I was inspired, first of all, by two challenges (Simon Monday Challenge and CASology) which both have the same theme : “Stitch”. I then noticed that this card could also enter other challenges (see below).

So neither one nor two, I took out my sewing machine and my threads and … at work !

On a white cardstock (210g) from Clairefontaine, I first made my zigzag stitches and my straight stitch outline using some threads in the same tones as the central image. For green and pink colors, I used a thread which has already shaded tones.

With my MISTI, I then stamped, several times, the sentiment with StazOn ink. This sentiment is part of a stamp set “Sew Pretty” from Jennifer Ellory, that I received as a gift in a magazine Cardmaking & Papercraft.

For the central image, I used, for the First Time (very important for the NBUS challenge in which I also present this card !), a set of stamps from Altenew. I received this set in June but up to now I did not have the opportunity to use it. I love this set, you can do many things with….I’m thinking up for a new card !

On watercolor paper, I stamped the images with Versamark ink and I heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then with Distress inks, I applied randomly the different colors for the flowers. Once the ink dry, I fussy cut the images. Then I mounted them above my zigzag stitches with adhesive foam tape. I then mounted the whole part on a double white card with adhesive foam.
