Less is More Week #329 – Geometric

Bonjour !

Hello !

I hope you enjoyed our last challenge ! 😉 This week we are coming back with a new challenge at Less is More and the theme is Geometric !

Our Guest Designer this week is Julie Beech from Crafted by Jules, the winner of April ! I’m sure your already know her since she is a member of several Design Teams from different challenges !

Voici mes propositions pour cette semaine / Here are my proposals for this week.

1/ Bravo (using sponsor images)

On a double white card I randomly stamped the different elements of the “Background builders : triangulate” set from our sponsor Uniko. I used the Altenew inks from the Sea Shore set playing with the gradients. I adhered a stripe of green jade paper and on top of it a foam mounted white stripe on which I stamped the sentiment.

Stamp: UNIKO “Background builders: triangulate”, Simply Graphic “Planche félicitations” – Inks: Altenew “Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake, Lagoon, Emerald”, Versafine “Onyx black”.
Challenge :
Uniko Challenge #41 Masculine (without the optional twist Father’s day)

2/ Hello

This card seems really easy, so will you believe me if I tell you that I had all the miseries of the world to do it ? Imagine, in my head I still had to do a OLC !! So I stamped the different geometric shapes, up to here no problem, then I used the negative part of the die cut of each letter to use it as a stencil to colour inside. The result was not very outstanding because the ink was not dried enough ! Then I realised that it was not anymore the OLC week !! I finally adhered the die cuts to the card and fortunately, we don’t see anything !

Stamp: Simon Says Stamp “Perfect shapes, Lots of dots & Swatches” – Inks: Memento Luxe “Dandelion, Morocco, Pear tart, Bahama blue”, Tsukineko Fabrico Dual Marker “Cherry Pink” – Dies: Life Style Crafts “Sugar cookie & Jump rope”, QuicKutz “Supermarket”

3/ Merci

Last weekend it was my daughter’s dance gala and it was truly a wonderful show. So I wanted to make a card to thank the teacher who frankly does wonders with her students! The idea of psychedelic circles came to me when I watched a children’s science journal where they illustrated quantum computers with color gradients on a hexagon. Just to say, inspiration is everywhere and catches you anywhere ! So I used a set of stamps with several sizes of rounds starting with the largest with the lightest color, down to the smallest with the darkest color!

Stamp: Simon Says Stamp “Lots of dots” – Inks: Altenew “Sea shore set, Red Cosmos set & Cool Summer Night set”- Dies: QuicKutz “Chandelier”, Lifestyle Crafts “Sugar cookie”.

  2. These three cards are outstanding! Adore how you jumbled the triangles on the first card! Don’t think I would have thought of doing that!
The colorful Hello is lots of fun and the way you created the circles of the last card is super cool! You have the most amazing ideas!
    Enjoy your weekend!

  3. I’m here at last Izzy and so sorry to be late with a comment. Had a crazy few days with family staying and work! I just love your geometric designs and what gorgeous colour combos you’ve used. Striking, fun and wonderful takes on the challenge. Your ‘Hello’ card was certainly worth the effort despite you thinking it was OLC week. It happens to us all. Have a great week and thanks for playing along at Uniko with your card too. x

  4. Well, your first card says it all Izzy! BRAVO! What an amazing trio of cards. I adored the randomness of those triangles when I saw that first card and your design is superb. I actually clapped my hands when I saw the letters in the geometric shapes. That was an absolutely brilliant idea and even though you had some difficulties the end result is perfect. But WOWZERS….. those psychedelic circles are incredible. They add so much depth and movement to that card and I totally love it. xx

  5. Three totally fabulous cards, Izzy! The shapes and colours on the first card are awesome – those Altenew Inks are lovely and the Uniko stamps give a really eye catching and crisp look. Your clever second card is just brilliant. I love the simple shapes, bright colours and contained letters. And those psychedelic circles on your final card are so much fun! Loving the colours and the way they “pop” off the base! Have a fantastic weekend x

  6. The sentiment on your first card says it perfectly ‘BRAVO’! I simply LOVE how you have used Uniko’s Background Builders: Triangulate clear stamp set and the colours are a FAVE of mine too. I love the simplicity and rainbow style of your second and the concentric ombre circles on the third is just brilliant. Hugs Bev x

  7. I always enjoy reading your posts, Izzy. A fabulous trio of cards. Love the design and colour of the tumbling triangles card. Your second card is so fun, especially with the story. Behind it. And I absolutely love your last card. So colourful and cool with the Ombré colours.
ps. Congrats on being a weekly winner at CAS Colour & Sketches #222 for your OLC Wish Big card. 👏🎉👏
    Have a great WE.

  8. These are all super cards, Izzy! Your third card is completely hypnotizing and makes me think of a 70’s disco or something else retro and fun! Your second card is so clever and just absolutely perfect for the challenge theme and your first card… Loving the colors and such fab stamping, this must have been so fun to make!

  9. Bravo Izzy! Tres productive! Tres bonne idee. Je suis inspiree. Merci de partager Bises

  10. These are fabulous, Izzy! The tumbling triangles from Uniko are just brilliant – they could be entered in to our masculine challenge over at Uniko too 🙂 I love the crisp and fun look of your geometric hello and the graduated colours on your circles card look hypnotic! Have a great week x

  11. Three fabulous designs, Izzy. I adore those colours on your first card, my favourites and a great layout too. That’s a funny story about your second card, I did the very same thing with mine…had that horrible feeling ‘whoops, should this be one layer…no, that was last week…phew!’ And wow, those circles look amazing on your last card, such s fantastic effect! Hugs xx
