Less is More Week #338 – No Stamps

Bonjour !

Hello !

I hope that you have enjoyed our last challenge together with AAA Cards ! We are back today on a regular basis and with a new challenge and here is the cue card !

Voici ce que je vous propose. Here is what I propose you.

To make this card I used an embossing folder, dies, a puncher, scissors and ribbon.

I dry embossed a green cardstock and with a white gel pen I drew the outlines of the embossed parts. I die cut the small poinsettia. As I didn’t have a bigger poinsettia die, I drew each part in a bigger size and I fussy cut them. With a stylus pen, I marked the ribs of the petals and of the leaves. I glued the different layers the ones over the others and I adhered micro silver beads to make the center of the flower.

I die cut the sentiment in a black paper on which I brushed some Wink of Stella. I cut the fir branches with a puncher. Then I mounted the whole card.

Dies: Poppy Stamps “Small blooming poinsettia”, SSS “Joyeux Noël” – Embossing folder: Craft Concepts “Christmas vine” – Puncher: Martha Stewart “Fir branch” – Embellishments: Ribbon, White gel pen, Micro beads.

2/ Happy….birthday

I made this card for the birthday of my teammate Sarah G. I often saw on her blog cards with wonderful blue tones. So I used this colour for my card as well as a stencil, inks and a die !

With masking tape, I masked the outlines of the white double card and I made a colour gradient with Distress inks and I used a stencil to make the motif.

I saturated a white cardstock with Distress ink, I dried it with the heat gun and then I die cut (x2) the word “happy”.

To finish, I dry embossed a frame with the scoring board all around the motif and I glued the “happy” die cut. As the challenge is “no stamp”, I only stamped inside the card the word “birthday”.

I made a small variant of the first card using the dark blue paper in which I die cut the word “happy”. I die cut another word “happy” in a paper previously shaded with a gradient of colors, then I pasted it inside the negative part.

I foam mounted the whole part over the card.

Dies: STAMPlorations “Happy”, SSS “Stitched squares & Stitched rectangles” – Stencil: Carabelle studio “geometric #1” – Inks: Distress “Faded Jean, Salted Ocean, Evergreen bough, Mowed Lawn”.

For this card I only used dies and inks. On a white cardstock I made a gradient of colours to illustrate a beautiful sunset, then I die cut it.

On a double purple card I embossed a frame with a die and I die cut the elephant shape in a black cardstock.

To finish I adhered the sunset die cut on the purple card and I glued the elephant over it.

Dies: Hero Arts “My Monthly Hero kit June 2017”, SSS “Stitched squares” – Inks: Distress “Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet”.

  1. Wonderful collection of cards Izzy. The last one posted to HLS AGWD is fabulous. The inking you did for the sky is absolutely fantastic. It looks so great on the purple background and finished beautifully with the elephant silhouette. Thanks so much for playing with us at Happy Little Stampers July Anything Goes With Dies Challenge!

  2. Wow! You have made my jaw drop with these amazing creations Izzy! First up I must say I am totally in love with that incredible sky on your African card – it is glorious! I honestly thought you’d slipped a photograph of a sky in behind the elephant and clouds. You also tricked me on your first card with that fab technique of the white pencil as I thought you had dry embossed a piece of green velum! What a wonderful technique that one is. And your card for Sarah G would have been perfect for her as she embraces that style so often. Magnificent work xx

  3. What a brilliant collection of no-stamping cards, Isabelle … the white gel detailing on the first is fabulous … ties in with those poinsettia beautifully! Both blue/green stencilled cards are delicious with the gradation of colour (some of my favourites too!) … and the sunset behind the silhouette elephant is stunning … so evocative of the African Savanna and wonderfully atmospheric! Bonne semaine! Bises, Anita 🙂

  4. I always look forward to seeing your trio of cards, Izzy and you did not disappoint. Love all the extra details you put into your Christmas card. Outlining with a white gel pen makes it pop and drawing out a larger poinsettia is brilliant. Great use of the positive and negative happy die cut to create 2 birthday cards. And your last card is stunning! Beautiful ink blending and colours for the sunset. You are so inspiring. Have a great week. xx

  5. Oh my <3 I love all of these. Your first one is such a lovely Christmas card with red and green – the traditional colours are my favourites – and that sentiment is beautiful. The ombre colour backgrounds of the second and third cards are so gorgeous, and I love the bold sentiment rectangle on the third one. Your final card is stunning. I love the colour palette, love the elephant, love the design. Brilliant! Have a fab weekend x

  6. Such a great card to enter in the HLS ATG w/ Dies July Challenge! I love the colored card base and the other beautiful colors you used for the dies! Thanks for joining us this month!

  7. Wow, Izzy, you have been very busy. I love the white detail you added to the embossed section on your first card, and great job with making the larger poinsettia too! The ombre blend of the stencilling on your ‘happy’ cards looks wonderful, a great go-to design. And OMG, the blend on your sunset circle is stunning, what a beautiful effect on the purple background with the elephant silhouette…gorgeous xx

  8. You’ve been a busy bee as always, Izzy! Your third card has stolen my heart… I would have never thought of using a purple base card for these colors. Fantastic and so creative! The stencil you used in your cards 2 and 3 is fab, I love the gradient in colors and the scored border was a super idea. The traditional Christmas color palette and the look of your first card is great too and will give the recipient a lot of gorgeous details to admire! Hugs! xxx
