Less is More Week #344 – Royal blue & Lime green

Bonjour !

Hello !

Incredible how the week passed quickly with the preparation of the start of the school year next Monday! Nevertheless, I have noticed that many of you have participated in our last challenge at Less is More, and what wonderful ideas you have had! I hope that this week’s challenge will please you just as much! We will start this September with our colour challenge!

And as you already know, new month is synonymous with new sponsor: Happy Little Stampers is our sponsor for September and we have the honor to welcome Kylie from Happy Little Stampers as our Guest Designer for this week.

Here is what I propose you this week.

It is always difficult for me to make a birthday card for The males and I thought that this combo of colours would be perfect for a man (these are indeed the favorite colours of my son!).

I started by stamping the sentiment and I heat embossed it with silver powder. Then I randomly stamped the various triangles. So that the pattern is not too “heavy” I have stamped the “full” triangles in Lime and the “outlined” triangles in Royal Blue.

A rain of triangles to picture the time that flows in the manner of an hourglass.

Stamp: Uniko “background builders: triangulate”, Simply Graphic “planche anniversaire” (sentiment) – Inks: Colour Box “Lime”, Memento Luxe “Danube blue” –  Embellishments: Hero Arts “Silver embossing powder”.

2/ Peace-Love-Joy / Paix-Amour-Joie

As I told you last week, I love the technique with the tissue paper and you may see a lot of it within my next posts !

It is with an end-of-year theme with non-traditional colors that I return with this technique. The poinsettia is made with a Brusho Lime and a Twisted Citron Distress ink while the background of the card is made only with Distress inks.

Once the papers were dry, I glued them: the green one on a white cardstock and the blue one, directly on the front of the double white card.

Then I stamped the poinsettia, I heat embossed it with gold powder and I fussy cut it. I adhered it on the card. I heat embossed the sentiment and I added few sequins to finish.

Stamp: Uniko “pure florals: poinsettia” – Inks: Distress “Salty Ocean, Tumble Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Twisted Citron”, Brushos “Lime green” –  Embellishments: Little Things from Lucy’s Cards sequins “Sparkly”.

  1. Your tumbling triangles are a sensational CAS design Izzy – so much yummy clear space and the randomness of the stamping is superb. A perfect masculine card. That colour combo is a real winner for the Christmas holiday cards and the poinsettias look amazing against that background. (I really must try that technique) xx

    Bravo !
    Bises.

  3. Your triangles appear to be toppling down the page, Izzy, creating wonderful movement. Unfortunately it doesn’t qualify for our Make Your Mark challenge since you have simple stamped the images. We hope you’ll join Addicted to Stamps and More for our next challenge.

  4. Two very cool cards, Izzy. Absolutely love your geometric cascading triangles. Great design and so beautifully stamped. Perfect masculine card. And I love nontraditional Christmas cards. Great work with the Brushos. ..I struggle with powdered inks. Great use of the tissue technique too. Can’t wait to see more of your tissue creations. Have a wonderful week. 😊 Trina xx

  5. Two unique cards, Izzy! I love the fun, young graphic look of your first card and the tissue paper technique in your second card… You really rock this technique! I’m so going to try this some day. Also I love your non-traditional Christmas colors -fun idea! Have a great week! xxx

  6. Simple and fun geometric pattern to your first one Izzy and great use of those colours which are great for a guy card. So much technique expertise on that second one and certainly has the WOW factor. Have a great week x

  7. Love your tumbling triangles, Izzy. The mix of solid and outline images was a great idea, and so perfect for masculine cards. Great to see non-traditional colours for a Christmas card too xx

  8. Two complete contrasts, Isabelle … and both gorgeous! The cascade of triangles is so cool and graphic … wonderfully and simply complemented by the crisp embossed sentiment! Oh my, the lime bloom against the texture-y blue tissue background, it’s so striking and dramatic … brilliant! Bises, Anita 🙂

  9. Great masculine card and love the tumbling hearts. Eye catching tissue paper card. Vibrant colours and love the non-traditional colour of the poinsettia. Also love that CAS style doesn’t have to be a white background or with nothing on it x

  10. I love the cascade of geometric triangles down your first card, Izzy – perfect for masculine cards and it works brilliantly with this colour combo. I also love your tissue paper on the second card – it is such an effective technique and adds great depth of colour to your design.
