Less is More Week #347 – Sketch 21

Bonjour !

Comme la semaine est passée vite ! Samedi déjà ! Et cette semaine, chez Less is More nous vous proposons un Sketch !

Hello !

The week went so fast ! It’s already Saturday ! And this week, at Less is More we propose you a Sketch !

This week I propose you two cards very simple and quick to make. The first one uses a stamp from our sponsor Happy Little Stampers.

1/ Happy Birthday

On a double white card, I first stamped one balloon (the yellow one) then using a mask, I stamped the other 2 balloons. I coloured them with Promarkers.

Then I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment. And to finish, I put a layer of Diamond Glaze on each balloon to give them more shine and more texture.

Stamp: HLS “simply said”, Uniko “happy succulents” (sentiment) – Markers: Promarkers “Gold, Yellow, Pumpkin, Red, Berry red”.
Challenges:
AAA cards #99 : Autumn colours
Just Add Ink #378 : Texture
Seize the toppings : Balloons
The Male Room #69 : Masking

2/ Let it Snow !

This card is even easier to do ! On a double white card, I stamped and heat embossed the snowflakes. Then I brushed Distress ink over each snowflake. Then to finish, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.

Stamp: Artemio “flocons”, Uniko “Big & bold: snow” (sentiment) – Embossing powders: WOW “Silver pearl”, HA “Silver” – Inks : Distress “Tumbled glass”.

And Voilà ! I hope that these cards will inspire you and if you want even more inspiration, go to the main blog HERE and on my teammies’ blogs where you will find wonderful cards !

  1. Warm summer colours and frosty winter in one post! Love the gloss on those balloons, they look so tactile, and I very nearly did a snowflake card too but ran out of time. Great minds again 😉 xx

  2. Both of these are gorgeous Izzy! I love your take on the sketch on both cards. The balloons are so fun and lush with that glaze and the snowflakes are just so pretty with that soft blue. I would be hopeless at less is more as I just keep adding but you always make it work so well 😃. Thank you as always for your inspiring cards! Lisa x

  3. You rocked the sketch with these two very different but amazing makes Izzy! Your balloons are bright, dramatic and magnificently glossy. That card is a real eye-catcher. Then you come up with such a delicate card for the Christmas theme. Those snowflakes are so delicate and dreamy with the soft blue inking. Gorgeous cards! xx

  4. These are both so deliciously CAS, Isabelle … the dimension and shine on those celebratory balloons is brilliant … and I LOVE those silver snowflakes surrounded by the halo’s of soft blue! Bon semaine! Bises, Anita 🙂

  5. Simply stunning Izzy, loving all that luscious gloss to the balloons – it really makes them pop and they work brilliantly for the sketch. Also impressed that you’re on the Christmas theme too and snowflakes was another idea I had too so glad you’ve showcased that idea here. Have a lovely week. x

  6. Two perfect ideas for the sketch, Izzy. Love the finishing glaze on the balloons. Love balloons for birthday cards. And wonderful use of the emboss resist technique on your Christmas card. Perfectly CAS. Have a wonderful weekend and week. 😊 Trina xx

  7. Both the balloons and the snowflakes work perfectly with this sketch! I love the shine in the balloons and the beautiful inking behind the snowflakes. Very fun way to add color! You mentioned you like the way I ink my backgrounds so here’s my tip: my favorite way to add ink softly is to use old make up brushes -the large blusher ones. 🙂 I personally would like to become better at sponging the way you did here! Have a fun weekend!
