Less is More Week #360&361 – Sketch 22

Bonjour !

Hello !

Do you believe it ? It’s our last challenge of the year at Less is More ! And as everybody will be busy because of the Holidays, we propose you a 2 weeks’ challenge and it is a Sketch one !

Our sponsor for these 2 weeks is Happy Little Stampers.

To illustrate this sketch I made 3 cards, the first one with a stencil, the second one with dies and the last one with a stamp.

1/ Happy Birthday

For this first card, I used a try that I had done for the December Release Day of the last products from Uniko, but I finally put it aside to make something else. I admit that this card is not very CAS for the Less is More challenge, that’s why I made 2 others that respond better to our rules.

On a double white card I put the stencil and I delicately marked with a little bit of Distress inks where the patterns were. I removed the stencil and with a foam applicator I blended the colors. I then put the stencil back and I blended again over the colors to make the patterns appear more intensely.

I die cut two flowers of different size in a yellow paper and I adhered them over the pattern to fulfil the sketch. The sentiment is stamped over a white cardstock and fussy cut.

Stamp: Uniko “simply said blocks” – Inks: Versafine “Black Onyx”, Distress “Abandoned coral, Worn Lipstick, Mustard seeds” – Stencil: Uniko “Doodle flowers” – Die: K-Kingdom “Flowers”.

For this card, nothing more simple! I cut 2 snowflakes in iridescent white paper and stuck them on an iridescent blue card. The sentiment is stamped on the same white paper with iridescent blue ink, cut and glued on a Vellum strip before being foam mounted on the card !

Stamp: Simply Graphic “’Planche bonheur et prospérité” – Inks: Micia “Splendid SD-A” – Die: SSS “Rylynn snowflake”, “Eliza snowflake”.

3/ Joyeux Anniversaire

For this last card, I used one of my favourite stamps from Uniko.

On a double Kraft card, I stamped the image at both angles as in the sketch. Then I heat embossed and I coloured it playing with the colours. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed in white too.

Stamp: Uniko “Marvellous Mehndi”, Simply Graphic “Joyeux Anniversaire” – Inks: Versamark– Embellishment: HA “White” – Colour Pencils: Faber-Castell Polychromos “132, 130, 129, 119, 128, 134, 108, 109, 111, 124, 123, 142”.

  1. Sorry I’m so late visiting this post, Izzy! But it was well worth the wait. Such lovely examples using the sketch. Love the pretty floral design with the pinks and soft yellow. The bold snowflakes on the deep blue is such a stylish design, and I love the embossed coloured designs on the kraft, so effective.
Thanks so much for playing along at HLS CAS Challenge with your snowflake cards too xx

  2. Another trio of awesome inspiration Izzy! Your first card made my jaw drop when I first saw it – I just love the dreamy, watery loose focus of the pretty pattern in that negative space. Your second card is full of crisp elegance and the final one is a pure joy to behold. Thanks for your beautiful Christmas card and here’s wishing you a happy new year xx

  3. Three different cards and all perfectly depicts the sketch, Izzy. Super job stencilling on your first. Fun bright colours. Your second snowflake card is simple and classy. Beautiful colouring of the mandelas on Kraft for your third. Three beautiful inspiring cards! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday. Happy new year!

  4. Such sweet stencilled blooms, Isabelle, all vibrant and spring like … gorgeous colouring on those white embossed mehndi … and those crisp white snowflakes against the midnight blue background are stunning, what elegant simplicity! Tu inspire toujours! Bises et calins, Anita 🙂

  5. I love all three cards, Izzy from the vibrant colours of the first design which makes me think of sunshine and summer, to the elegant mandala on the kraft base! You have showcased the sketch perfectly. I hope that you have had a wonderful Christmas and I look forward to seeing lots more inspiration from you in 2018 🙂

  6. Great set of cards Izzy, you rocked this sketch! I especially love the last card -your coloring on vellum looks absolutely stunning. I’m hoping to buy some pencils next year because this look is more and more appealing to me the more I see it! I love the simplicity of your second card -great design for a last minute Christmas card- and your first card is a very different, creative take on the sketch. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! xxx

  7. One sketch and three totally different cards! You did it again and created inspiring and beautiful cards! Love the stenciled background on the first, the shimmery simplicity of the second, and the coloring on kraft of the third!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wish you all the best in 2018!

  8. A beautiful trio as always Izzy. Loving the vibrant fun colours on the first one and only just realised it features the Doodle Flower stencil from Uniko! hahaha! Your second one oozes class and your sketch inspired snowflakes look just perfect against the iridescent blue card. I’m so glad you got round to using the Uniko on Mandala too as I’d hoped to use it too but just ran out of time. Have a wonderful few days with the family and a very Happy Christmas. x

  9. Stunning cards…Love all three of them. The background on your first card is fabulous. Your second card is so elegant and perfectly CAS. Love the stamp and how you’ve coloured on the kraft card. Merry Christmas to you and your family x
