Carte/Card

K-Kingdom – Teal blossomed heart

Bonjour !

Hello !

Today it’s the Muse challenge that inspired me with the wonderful card of my talented teamie Anita. I let you see…

I was immediately attracted by the contrast of white and teal, by the heart and the pretty flower garland, by the sentiment on the stripe of vellum, well finally by everything !

I immediately thought about this wood stamp that I had in my stash. A wonderful occasion to dust it out and to use the latest technique shown by Jennifer McGuire (see her post Here).

On a square slightly smaller than the double white card, I stamped the image and I white heat embossed. Then I saturated the square with Distress oxyde.

With a brush and water, I took off step by step the colour that was in the flowers, the leaves and the pot. I did it several time while drying with the heat gun between each step.

As far as I’m concerned I stopped the technique at this stage since I wanted to keep the same blue shades. But if you watch the Jennifer’s video, she adds another colour in the clearer parts.

Then I stamped the sentiment on a Vellum stripe and I gold heat embossed it because I love the combo blue/gold (see HERE).

I wrapped the vellum around the card and I adhered it on the reverse. To finish, I heat embossed gold powder onto the centre of the flowers to replace Anita’s gemstones on her card.

And Voilà ! I love this very simple card and I think I will redo it in other colours.

  1. It’s lovely Izzy! I have yet to try this technique out – so little time and so many things to try. Beautiful take on Anita’s card too. And a really pretty stamp that is, just right for this technique. Thank you for sharing with us, Lisa xx

  2. Wonderful card Isabelle. Beautiful stamping and a CASE. Love the embossing on the vellum such a nice touch. Thanks for sharing with us at the Watercooler Wednesday “Feminine” Anything Goes Challenge.

  3. So great to see you at Muse, Izzy! So glad my card inspired you to play along, and what a gorgeous creation. I love the colour lifting technique and in this colour it’s gorgeous. Love those teeny gold flower centres too.
Thanks so much for playing along at Muse this week, Anita x

  4. My goodness Izzy, I love the way you’ve taken inspiration from Anita’s lovely card and made it your own. The teal shades are absolutely stunning. What an intriguing technique! I think you lifted just enough colour from those leaves and flowers to add that lighter teal but still stay within Anita’s colours. Great idea to heat emboss the sentiment in gold on vellum. It adds a very delicate, feminine touch. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  5. I love your interpretation of Anita’s Muse card and I really love that you used the technique that Jennifer McGuire recently demonstrated. Your card is lovely.
