Carte/Card

CAS-ual Fridays & SSS – Cerf dans l’O

Bonjour !

Hello !

Last weekend, after making my card for the Muse challenge, I still wanted to play with this beautiful ink Distress Oxide and I finally made this card for the Muse Christmas Visions challenge where Kimberly, who is the muse, proposes us this pretty card …

Voici ma carte… / Here is my card…

I kept the idea of the deer coming out of the word O, the striped strip at the bottom and the dark card base.

In a black paper I die cut the circle. I die cut the oval shape, in a trial sheet I had made with Distress Oxide, a stencil and spritzed water on top of it.

In a white cardstock I die cut the deer.

On a white cardstock, I adhered the black circle and I stamped the letters around to write the word Noel. Then I adhered the oval shape on the black circle and the deer on the oval shape.

On another white cardstock I stamped the stripes with the same Distress Oxide ink then I cut it to make a strip of the required width.

Finally I adhered the image and the striped strip on a double black card.

And Voilà ! I do not know why, I never managed to make the ink adhere enough on the stamp to make the stripes flawless! But finally I like this look (not too much choice either!).

  1. Thanks for sharing your Noel card with us at the Watercooler Wednesday “All Occasions” challenge this week. Beautiful colours and the deer coming out of the O is so special. This is such a wonderful Christmas card. Love the black lettering and the bold teal blue.

  2. Hi Isabelle, what a wonderful Christmas card! I love the way you’ve kept it to simply the black, white and blue. The simplicity of colour really puts the attention to the image and sentiment. Love the layout. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  3. Oooh, cool and dramatic with that gorgeous blue against the black, Isabelle … the reindeer inside the O is so serene and calm … such a great contrast with those bold colours! Coverage for the stripes … if you haven’t done already, you could try inking up with Versamark before the DOX … that works most of the time for me! Bises et hugs, Anita 🙂

    Bises.
