Less is More #371 – Yellow, blue, grey

Bonjour !

Nouveau défi, nouveau mois et donc nouveau sponsor chez Less is More !

Hello !

New challenge, new month and so new sponsor over at Less is More ! Today our challenge is a challenge that offers you plenty of possibilities since it is a combo of colours…but keep in mind that your project has to be CAS !

We have the pleasure to welcome JoJo from Jo-Jo’s spot, our March winner. I love her cards, always very clean but so beautifully designed. Why not pop over her blog to admire her wonders and you can leave her a nice comment !

We are also delighted to welcome a brand new sponsor with Winnie & Walter !

1/ Welcome to the family

Some time ago, a friend asked me for a birth card so I took advantage to use the colours of the challenge that suit both for a little girl and a little boy, as well as a stamp set from our fabulous sponsor !

I first cut the frame with a cutting die and placed it on the double card to mark the location of the image with a pencil.

Then, it’s only a game of stamping and masking. I first stamped the giraffe on a post-it note and then on the double card. I fussy cut the post-it image to place it over the card one in order to stamp the cube.

To make the image background, I also masked the cube and with Distress ink I made a yellow fade.

Then I coloured the girafe as well as the cube with markers. I stamped the sentiment underneath the image and to finish, I foam mounted the frame.

Stamps: W&W “Welcome to the family” – Markers : Promarker “cool aqua”, Staedtler “Yellow” – Inks: Altenew “Turquoise, Silver Stone” – Die: MFT “Stitched square scallop”.

Yes it’s spring, everything is blooming, even babies ! It is well known: little boys are born in cabbages and little girls in roses ! A couple from my husband’s badminton club recently had the joy of welcoming their first child, a boy, and seeing this week’s CAS Colors & Sketches challenge, this is what came out of it!

Some months ago, I bought this set of stamps that I found funny and ideal for this kind of layout with a small window. Fist I stamped the 3 critters over a white cardstock and I coloured them with colour pencils.

I die cut the frames (x2/each) in cardstocks with the challenge’ colours. I fussy cut the 3 images and I adhered the base of each image over the inside edge of the windows.

On a double white card I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment. Then I foam mounted the 3 frames. To finish I put some Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Stamps: Artemio “Adorable” – Pencils : Faber-Castell “#184, 106, 104, 247, 246, 147, 234, 232, 230” – Inks: Altenew “Sapphire, Silver Stone, Honey Drizzle” – Die: SSS “Stitched square” – Embellishment: Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops “Caribbean Ocean, Dandelion Yellow, Silver Lining”.
