4enSCRAP – Lavande & Cigale

Bonjour !

Recently I was the lucky winner of a gift certificate at 4enSCRAP and I cracked for stamps and dies of their Summer 2018 collection. I had the chance to know this French brand by one of its ambassadors, the talented Estelle TBT from Scrap of me, that some of you already know, I’m sure. If this is not the case, I invite you to discover her beautiful cards, always very clean & simple, very soft and so beautifully designed.

While taking my inspiration from Estelle’s beautiful creations as well as from the 4enSCRAP designers, here is the card I designed for my sister’s birthday.

My sister and my brother-in-law love to spend their holidays in Provence. As an amateur photographer, he takes a lot of pictures of lavender fields, currently in full bloom ! So when I saw these beautiful dies of lavender and cicada, I could not help but buy it !

I cut the lavender sprigs in green and lavender papers, and the cicada in kraft paper and vellum for the wings.

I cut a white square slightly smaller than the double card, I embossed the right side with a matrix and I used a lavender paper on the left side that reminds the lavander colour. I stamped the sentiment on a kraft label and I assembled the different elements on this white square which is finally foam mounted on the double card.

And Voilà ! I love this combo lavender/green/kraft and white, I find it very soft and relaxing. I only have to put this card in an envelope with lavender to perfume it !

  2. Tres belle! I live in San Antonio, Texas and I am of Mexican descent so I speak Spanish fluently. (My mom is from Mexico.) We call cigales “chicharra.” They are noisy here in Texas during the summer. =)

  3. Aaaaaah !!! Tu as également succombé à ces petites merveilles 😉.

  4. So so pretty! And a perfect slice of Provence life! It’s one of my dreams to visit the Lavender fields but we always end up coming to France in September and they are not in full bloom then!

Love your super pretty card Izzy, the colours are perfect, and the pop of lavender down the left hand side is lovely. And what better way to bring it altogether with kraft and the twine – it’s a perfect combination. It really does invoke the spirit of the countryside and fields. Beautiful. You always do such great things with dies, I still find them slightly terrifying on their own! Lisa xx
