CAS Watercolour reminder – Sunflower

Bonjour !

Hello !

I come back today with my reminder card for the current “Sunflower” challenge at CAS Watercolour where I have the great joy to be Guest Designer for the month of August. You can find all the information about the challenge HERE, as well as the wonderful creations of the DT ! Once again, thanks so much to Loll, Bonnie and the CAS Watercolour team for having me. I really enjoyed making my cards for this beautiful challenge !

Here is the card that I have sent to my dear daddy for his birthday three weeks ago.

At the beginning of July, a store of frames sold all its art supplies (canvas, paper, painting, brushes, markers…). So I let myself be tempted by a watercolour palette (among other things) at half price ! Finally I had the opportunity to play with watercolour paint and I was blown away by the bright colours it made !

On a watercolour paper I stamped the image with black Memento ink. Then I played with the different colours in order to obtain the desired shades.

During a walk in early July I saw this sunflower that had two different flowers, one with a green center and the other one with a brown center. So I used the same colours to paint my image.

On a double white card I stamped in black a border. I stamped the sentiment on a black stripe of paper and I white heat embossed. I fussy cut the image and I foam mounted it over the card, as well as the sentiment.

And Voilà ! I hope this card will inspire you to come and play. You can see all the inspirations from the talented design team HERE.

Thank you for taking the time to pop in and again, a big thank you to the CAS Watercolour team for having me as their Guest Designer.

Bravo !

I tried to grow the sunflowers with the green centers years ago, but the first winter was harsh and they didn’t survive (they were supposed to!). I believe they were called Irish Eyes. So pretty. I love that you’ve combined the two colours of sunflowers just like your photo.

Thanks so much for being our Guest Designer this month at CAS Watercolour!! xx

  8. Your water colouring with your new paints look fabulous and so vibrant. The strip down the right hand side sets off your card beautifully. Wonderful inspiration and the most beautiful card x.
