Less is More #379 – Black, White + one colour

Bonjour !

Hello !

I can not believe we are already September 1st ! In 2 days time the children go back to school, the crazy rhythm will start again ! It’s also a new challenge that starts at Less is More: black, white + a color of your choice. I can not wait to see which one will be yours !

Who says new month, also says new sponsor. Our VERY generous sponsor for September is Michele Gross from CAS-ual Fridays !

For this fortnight, I wanted to challenge myself …One Stamp, Three Cards ! And to do it, I chose the stamp set “Calm & Gentle” from our sponsor.

1/ Think happy thoughts

Autumn is not here yet, but we are already starting to see challenges on this theme, which led me to choose the yellow-orange colour in addition to black and white.

I simply die cut a rectangle and I stamped and I black heat embossed the trunks. Then I stamped the leaves in orange shades.

On a double white card I foam mounted this panel and I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.

Stamps:  CAS-ual Fridays “calm & gentle” – Die: SSS “Stitched rectangle”  – Inks : Catherine Pooler “Limoncello, Tiara, Tiki Torch”.

2/ Thankful for you

Of course, these pretty dots as leaves reminded me of snow and so this card was obvious !

I die cut a rectangle and I masked its outlines. To make the snowy hill, I die cut a post-it note and I put it on the bottom of the rectangle. I stamped and I black heat embossed the trunks, then I stamped and I heat embossed the snowflakes and to finish I put Distress Oxide ink to make the sky.

I foam mounted the image over the double white card and I stamped the sentiment with the same blue ink.

Stamps:  CAS-ual Fridays “calm & gentle” – Die: MFT “Snow drifts” & “Stitched mini scallop rectangle”  – Inks : Distress Oxide “Broken China”.

3/ Be brave

I had to make a card with this little ribbon that is in this set since not only it means a lot for Michele but also for me. My grandmother and aunt both had this horrible flail but fortunately they were stronger than him !

I die cut a square in a black card stock. In this square I die cut a circle and around this circle I stamped and clear heat embossed the leaves of the stamp set to give a little bit of dimension and to illustrate something that bursts to let appear hope and encouragement.

Stamps:  CAS-ual Fridays “calm & gentle” – Die: MFT “Blueprints 12”, SSS “Stitched square”  – Inks : Altenew “Rubellite”.

  3. Sorry for commenting so late, Izzy! Love your cards. The ribbon card is perfect for our theme (and perfect in all ways!) and your use of your tree and leaves stamps in the two first cards is very clever. Love how you used the leaves as show in the second card! Have a great weekend!

  7. A trio of CAS loveliness, Isabelle … those yellow-orange leaves over the black tree trunks are beautifully reminiscent of autumn … love the snowy background in that pretty scalloped panel … and the ‘brave’ colours are bold, strong and striking, the black on black embossing is so cool! Bises, Anita 🙂
