K-Kingdom, SSS & Funky Fossil designs – Leaves

Bonjour !

Hello !

Today I’m coming back with one of my favourite hobbies : a combo of challenges !

The colours of ones and the cue words of the others gave rise to these two cards …

I first started with the challenge of Twofer Card Challenge where the theme is “Leaves” and then looking at other challenges such as Inkspirational (use a doily), CAS Color & Sketches, I quickly made this card.

Update:

Happy and honoured to be one of the weekly winners over at CAS Colours & Sketches

I simply stamped the doily on a double plum card.

On a white card stock I stamped the leave and I black heat embossed it. I coloured it with Promarkers and I fussy cut it.

I stamped and black heat embossed the sentiment on a stripe of white cardstock.

Finally I foam mounted the leave and the sentiment on the double card.

Stamp : SSS  “Fractile leaves”, K-Kingdom ” GT-4325″, Uniko “Flower Power #5” (sentiment) – Promarkers : “Cardinal red, Bright green, Pumpkin” – Ink : Altenew “Grapevine”.

Update:

Happy and honoured to be In the Mailbox as Toni & Wendi’s Personal Favorite at Cards in Envy

I made this card for my brother who has been recovering at home since the end of June. Since he can not go for a walk in his wood for now, this card will remind him the colors of autumn.

I cut a square with a cross stitched die in a soft cream colour paper and I used a stencil and Distress inks to make the stag head.

I dried it with the heat gun, I repositioned the stencil to stamp the leaf randomly with Versamark ink. I heat embossed with gold powder. I also stamped the leaf over the double card.

To finish, I foam mounted the image over the double card.

Stamp : SSS  “Fractile leaves”, Simply Graphic “planche un petit coucou” (sentiment) – Inks : Distress “Twisted citron, Vintage Photo, Spiced marmalade, Antique linen” – Die : Lawn Fawn “Large Cross-Stitched Square”.

  1. A fantastic duo featuring a cool leaf! Adore the colorful leaf with the doily stamp in the background looks gorgeous! La tête de cerf in those beautiful fall colors with the gold embossing and the subtle background looks phenomenal and majestic! I am in love with both cards!

  2. Love the colours in the stag’s head! Also, the added details made by stamping the maple leaf both in the background and on the stag. Thanks for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday.

  3. Excellent job using the maple leaf stamp in two very different ways! I really like how you’ve colored it for the first card; it reminds me of stained glass. Thanks so much for sharing your artwork with us at CC&S! 🙂

  4. Izzy, like the others, I’m marveling at your incredible twofer here. The stag’s head is gorgeous; perfect for your brother (hope he’s recuperating and will be out walking again soon). Your leaf card…oh my! Simply stunning! Thrilled to see this one shared in the Inkspirational gallery!
    hugs~carol

  5. A gorgeous twofer, Isabelle! The subtle tone on tone doily makes for a lovely centrepiece for that multi-coloured autumn leaf. A rich and striking design! Love how you’ve created a wood (on a card!) for your brother … the tumble of leaves creates such a delicious background for the beautifully blended, gold embossed leafy stag. He’s sure to love it … I’m guessing he might be a chasseur! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Bises et hugs, Anita 🙂

  6. Two lovely cards! I like the design with a feature stamp and background stamping. Great, bold colors and I like how you incorporated the doily in the background. Thanks for sharing with us at Inkspirational!

  7. Two amazing cards, Izzy! LOVE the design with the beautiful plum card base and tone-on-tone doily stamped for the background. Your leaf is so pretty with the mix of bright colours. Plum, orange, and green look AWESOME together! Your second card is a wonderful design with the leaf stamped multiple times to create a beautiful backdrop for your stitched panel with stenciled stag sponged in fall colours. The gold embossing adds some shine. Your brother is going to love it! Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge!

  8. These are fab card Izzy. I love how you stamped the doily in almost the same colour as the card base, gives a subtle look which works so well with the vibrant colours of the leave. I do like how the geometric pattern of this contrasts with the pretty doily. Thanks for joining Ink

  9. Oh my, Isabelle, what an amazing set of cards. You’ve used that leaf stamp so very well. I love the way you have it stamped lightly on the white behind the stag. But it’s the centre stag which commands all one’s attention. So clever to have cut the image out in a stitched diamond shape. Equally clever to stencil that stag using those Autumn coloured Distress Inks. But the wonderful finishing touch is the way you’ve heat embossed the leaf pattern through that stencil as well, leaving the pattern on that gorgeous stag. A wonderful creation. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  10. I think both of these designs are remarkable, Izzy! Just choosing that rich plum for your card base on your thankful card was inspired! It sets the tone for the whole design package of the richly colored leaf and regal doily! Superb! And, wow, using the leaf to gold- emboss a pattern on your stag was genius! I love the fall coloring, the sweet cross-stitched panel, and the subtle leaf background!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #9! Hugs, Darnell

  11. What a fabulous masculine card Isabelle. The embossed stamping of the leaves on the deer head is a great effect and your sponging uses the perfect autumn colours. Thanks for joining us at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week. Tristan DT

  12. Great how you’ve combined the challenges to produce these two wonderful cards. Great use of the same stamp and love the elegance of the first and the creativity and colours of the second. Both have fabulous layouts too x.

  13. Two wonderful cards…especially love the one with the deer. Indeed, he doesn’t need a lot of attention during hunting season, but should get it on a card.
