Create a Smile, IO, SSS, MFT – Santa is blocked !

Bonjour !

Hello !

I could not resist this set of stamps from Create a Smile illustrating the vicissitudes of Santa ! The illustrations make you smile but the sentiments that go with it too !

Voici ma carte / Here is my card

Update : Happy and honoured to be one of the Outstanding Design at CAS Christmas Card challenge

To make this card I assembled die cuts, stencils and the stamp. The rooftop and stalactites are die cut in “frosted” paper. To make the brick wall, I used a stencil with Distress ink on dark red paper. Then I stamped the sentiment over and I heat embossed it in white.

On a white square, I stamped Santa then I masked it to make the sky with VersaMagic ink. I coloured Santa and the chimney with colour pencils. I glued the brick wall and with a stencil and embossing paste I made the falling snow. Then I adhered the rooftop.

Then I die cut the frame in the same paper as the rooftop and I glued it on top of the image. To finish I mounted the whole part over a white double card with a very thin foam.

And Voilà ! I deeply sympathize with poor Santa and I am already on the “diet” so I can enjoy it at Christmas !

  1. Adorable card Izzy! The brick sponging looks great on the house … what a fantastic detail! Love the bright blue background with falling snow … and the snow on the top of the roof and chimney. Doesn’t look like Santa is going to make it down that narrow chimney! So fun! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Christmas!

  2. You have created a super fun Christmas card, Izzy , with so many clever detailed elements. Very clever! Anyone would love to receive this one! Thanks so much for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week!

  3. Wow, Isabelle, what a lot of work you’ve put into this card. I love the raised stencilled snow and bricks. The added dimension really works for this cute scene. Poor Santa! He’ll never be allowed to forget what he said about Christmas calories, will he? His elves and magical reindeer had best hurry to help him. I love your colours and, of course all your great die-cuts. Great card! Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  4. Oh, oh. I don’t think Santa is going to make it down this chimney! But he sure is fun trying! Love the snowy rooftop and falling snow, Izzy! And of course I love this Santa! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Christmas!
