Twofer Card Challenge #12 GD – Birds

Bonjour !

Hello !

I have been the lucky winner of the October Twofer Card Challenge with THESE cards and today I’m very exited, delighted and honoured to be the Guest Designer of Darnell and her wonderful team for the challenge #12 of the month of January !

The theme for this month is Birds and here are my cards.

You will find in THIS post a very detailed and precise presentation (bravo Darnell !) of the rules of the game for the Twofer Card Challenges whose basics are summarized in the attached badge.

1/ You make my heart flutter

I especially love this theme because to make this card I only used NBUS products (Darnell’s acronym) !

I first made the background using a stencil and sponging the ink in a gradient way. Then I stamped the sentiment.

I die cut the birds and I put them back in the die cut space to stamp the corresponding images on top (easier in this order and less risk to cut over the outlines). I also die cut the mini tags and I stamped the letters. The heart is an integral part of the die.

I coloured the birds with colour pencils and the heart with the same Distress ink than the background. I tied the tags with a silver thread and I adhered all the pieces with Glue Dots and adhesive foam.

To finish I glued this panel on a double grey card.

Stamps : Clearly Besotted  “Bird Bath″ – Stencil : Funky Fossil Designs “Have a heart” – Pencils : Faber-Castell Polychromos “#189, 188, 263, 108, 115, 230,231” – Dies : Clearly Besotted “Bird bath”, Create a Smile “Lovely tags XS” – Inks : Altenew “Silver stone”, Distress “Abandoned Coral”.

2/ Happy bird-day

For this second card I used these adorable birds on the edge of the basin like a wedding-cake layers on its plate.

I first stamped the different images on post-it notes in order to use them as masks to build this little scene directly over the double white card. Before removing all the masks, I made the sky sponging Distress ink over a cloud die cut.

Then I die cut three times the frame and I glued them together before adhering it to frame the scene. I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment over a label previously sponged with Distress.

Stamps : Clearly Besotted  “Bird Bath″ – Pencils : Faber-Castell Polychromos “#147, 110, 145, 147, 120, 266, 106, 108, 109, 230, 231, 232, 233, 234” – Dies : MFT “Stitched mini scallop rectangle”, Quickutz “Nesting card templates”, MB “Puffy clouds” – Inks : Distress “Salty ocean, Twisted citron”.
