CASology & Time Out – Octopus’ hugs and kisses

Bonjour !

Hello !

Have you seen the last challenge over at CASology ? I couldn’t resist to play when I saw the theme : Ocean. For me who love sea and blue, I had to make a card !

I really love this porthole die and the idea of looking at the sea through. I also combined this card with the Time Out challenge. For that I chose this beautiful octopus, with all these tentacles and suckers how not to make lots of hugs and kisses, to wish the whole team a very happy 5th birthday !

In a white card stock I die cut the porthole. I also die cut a circle in a white card stock that has the same size than the double white card front. I laid it down on the double card to draw the circle outlines. Then I adhered the porthole on it and I stamped the sentiment.

On the double white card, I drew the waves with a stencil and a Versamark pen, then I white heat embossed. Thanks to the “emboss resist” technique, I blended Distress Oxide inks to make the changing reflections of the sea.

On a white card stock I stamped the octopus using different ink shades and I cut it with the matching die. I brushed some Wink of Stella on it to give a wetness effect.

To finish, I foam mounted the porthole panel on the double card. Then I adhered the octopus with 3D foam squares.

A card very simple and quick to do. I find the waves outlines a little too big but hey … I like the card anyway !

  1. Oh isn’t this the perfect CAS nautical scene!! I love the window you created with dies, this is such a fab design… So simple yet a complete scene. The colors look amazing as well, love the blend! Thanks for joining us at Time Out Izzy!

  2. This is one gorgeous CAS card!! The blues and greens together are amazing and love how you added purple into the mix for the octopus. And of course all that crisp, white background make those colours pop off the card. Its just fabulous and I’m so glad you shared it with us at TIME OUT!

  3. Fun and fabulous, Izzy … the ocean blending is gorgeous … and what a brilliant octopus … luscious colours … and I love how you’ve made him shimmery and shiny! Bises, Anita 🙂
