Bonjour !

Hello !

Are you ready for a new challenge over at Less is More ? For this new fortnight the theme is : Beverages !

Our sponsor for the month of April is CAS-ual Fridays and our Guest Designer is Helen de Helen’s Craft Haven, our March winner. I invite you to visit her blog and leave her a nice comment.

Voici mes cartes…/ Here are my cards…

1/ There is always time for tea (Using sponsor stamp)

I know that most of you love coffee, personally I never drink coffee, on the other hand I drink a lot of tea !

To make this card I used the technique of Paper Piecing and I used the colours of the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.

On a double grey card, I stamped in grey the floral pattern on the edges to obtain a tone on tone.

I die cut a strip of paper in order to have 2 scalloped edges. Then I stamped the cup in grey on top of it.

Then I stamped the floral pattern on a white card stock with grey ink and I stamped the image of the cup on top. I coloured the main part of the cup with fineliners. To finish I fussy cut this part to glue it on the cup of the scalloped strip of paper.

Stamp: CAS-ual Fridays “Full on florals”, Uniko “I love tea” – Inks: Altenew “Silver stone”, CP “Party Dress” – Fineliner : Staedtler triplus – Die : MFT “Stitched scallop basic edge”.
Challenges :
CAS Colours & Sketches #320 – Colours
Crafty creations challenge #390 – Anything goes
Crafty Sentiments Designs : Anything goes challenge

2/ It’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas (using sponsor stamps)

Who does not appreciate a good cup of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows when it’s cold in winter?

Here I combined the adorable set from Gerda Steiner together with the beautiful snowflakes from CAS-ual Fridays that come from different sets.

I stamped and white heat embossed the snowflakes on the top of the double white card and thanks to the “Emboss resist” technique, I made a gradient with Distress inks on top of them.

On a white card stock previously die cut to give it a snowy mound shape, I stamped and black heat embossed the images and the sentiment.

I also used the “emboss resist” technique for the mug. I stamped and white heat embossed the smallest snowflakes, then I masked the outline and I used a mini applicator to apply red ink. Then I coloured the images with Promarkers and colour pencils.

To finish, I stamped and red heat embossed the word “Christmas”, then I adhered this panel on the double card.

Stamp: CAS-ual Fridays “Short & sweet collection : Merry” & “Joy”, Gerda Steiner “Smell like Christmas” – Inks: Distress “Peacock feathers, Mermaid lagoon, Cracked pistachio”, CP “Rockin’ red” – Colour pencils : Faber-Castell Polychromos “#154, 155, 156, 180, 169, 132, 230, 231, 232, 175” – Markers : Promarker “Crimson, Ruby” – Die : SSS “Stitched slopes and hills”.

3/ When life gives you lemons, make lemonade

This last card is very simple and clean like what we are looking for our challenge.

Thanks to masking technique, I directly stamped the two lemons on the double white card.

To finish, I stamped the sentiment in black, I masked the two lemons and I made splashes on top of it to give a refreshing and sparkling look.

Stamp: Stamplorations “Layered Citrus” – Inks: Distress “Twisted citron, Mustard seed”, CP “Limoncello, Lime Rickey”.

  2. That’s a terrific trio of cards Izzy! The paper pieing looks so much like bone china on your first card. And who doesn’t love a steaming cup of hot chocolate in the cold weather? Your citrus lemonade is making my mouth water too. Really inventive takes on the theme and great inspiration. Sorry I’m late coming to visit but I’ve been away from home for over a week. xx

  3. Great cards, Izzy. I love all them. Your paper pieced teacup is beautiful, I love the Xmas theme, and the last one is a brilliant interpretation of the challenge xx

  4. Awesome as usual, Izzy. What a great idea to bring the background onto your images, such a great design idea. And so many great techniques all in one post. You’ve inspired me to do some paper piecing again soon too, Anita xx

  5. Awesome cards! Your idea adding flower pattern to the tea cup is amazing. And the background stamping on the cardstock is also getting along with the tea cup. Thank you for joining our CC&S challenge and hope to see u again very soon!

  6. Adorable holiday card! You can never start too early, especially when they are this cute! Thank you for playing with us at the Alphabet Challenge and hope you join us again soon.

  7. Izzy, you have a great assortment of cards here, but the first one is what brought me to your blog today. The way you’ve colored the teacup reminds me of cloisonne. Nicely done! Thanks for making CC&S part of your crafting time!

  8. All wonderful cards as always, Izzy! I love the tone on tone background on your teacup card. Love the paper piecing and the scalloped edges on the white panel. The colors are wonderful too. Love that little christmas mouse on #2. He looks as if he is in heaven anticipating the taste of that cocoa. And the third citrus card – I love it. Have had my eye on that stamp set for a long time. I love the your masking and the splatters. I always love to see your creations!
