Carte/Card

Simply Graphic & Uniko – Nautical twofer

Bonjour !

Hello !

I could not resist the Twofer Card Challenge with its Nautical theme. And as I’m just back from Brittany where I could admire the sea and its sailboats, I took inspiration from these memories to make the two following cards …

1/ Le vent du large (the offshore wind)

Update : Happy and honoured to be one of the Outstanding Designs over at CAS Mix Up challenge.

Happy and honoured to be one of the favourite over at HLS Watercolour challenge.

To make this card, I was inspired by the technique of the last challenge of CAS Mix up. I first absorbed three colors of Brushos with the paper towel but when I wanted to transfer these colors on Mix Media paper, the colours were too pale for me and the pattern of the paper towel was almost invisible.

So I opted for the solution to directly use one of the three layers of the paper towel to make a background. I pasted a square of Mix Media paper directly on the paper towel and I mounted this panel on the double white card.

To finish, I simply adhered the sailboat and the gull die cuts on this panel. Then I stamped the sentiment.

Stamp: Simply Graphic “Planche mer” (sentiment) – Dies: Simply Graphic “Voilier”, Impression Obsession “Sea birds” – Brushos: “Sea green, Turquoise, Ost. Blue” – Ink: Catherine Pooler “Juniper Mist”.

2/ Joyeux Anniversaire

For the second card, I get inspired by the sketch of the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. I stamped the wind rose in dark blue over a turquoise paper.

Then with a die I cut navy blue strips of paper with a wavy shape and I stamped and I heat embossed in turquoise blue the sentiment on one of these strips. I adhered these stripes on the card.

To finish I die cut the sailboat in a red paper and I glued it on the card.

Stamp: Uniko “Nautical treasures”, Simply Graphic “Planche anniversaire” (sentiment) – Dies: Simply Graphic “Voilier”, Impression Obsession “Ocean border” – EP:  Aladine “Turquoise” – Ink: Versafine “Majestic Blue”.
