Carte/Card

Gerda Steiner – Autumn twofer

Bonjour !

Hello !

I think that you will have noticed that lately, many challenges revolve around the theme of autumn. A very nice theme that I wanted to illustrate here with two cards because, one more time, Twofer Card challenge tempted me…

1/ Happy fall

I recently won this set with this adorable squirrel. I find it perfect for this theme. I wanted a CAS card for the September CAS Card exchange on the FB group of AAA CAS Card, so Voilà !

I stamped the wreath of leaves (it comes from another set of Gerda Steiner) with Versamark ink on a double kraft card. It enables to slightly print the outlines and to colour each element with colour pencils.

Once done, I put back the card in the Misti and I stamped again the wreath but this time with brown Distress ink, and one more time with Versamark in order to heat emboss with clear powder.

On another kraft paper but a softer one, I stamped the squirrel with Versamark. Then I coloured it with colour pencils and I fussy cut it.

To finish, I stamped the sentiment in brown, then with Versarmark ink and I heat embossed with clear powder. And I foam mounted the squirrel in the center of the wreath.

2/ Joyeux Anniversaire

I had a lot of fun doing this little scene. At the beginning I had thought to stamp two squirrels but for a birthday, the more the merrier !

I used a lot of masks to make this card, first of all I stamped the squirrel in the center, the branch and the mushrooms. I masked it all then I stamped the grass. I masked it and I stamped the two other squirrels and the trunk that I also masked.

Everything being masked, I could do the sky in the background with a stencil and Distress inks.

I took off all the masks and I coloured this little scene with colour pencils.

To finish I die cut a speech bubble and I stamped the sentiment on top and some notes. What a birthday is without song and music ?

Stamps: Gerda Steiner “Happy fall !”, “Foxes” (mushrooms) & “Hello spring” (branch), Simply Graphic “Planche anniversaire” (sentiment) –  Colour Pencils:  Faber-Castell polychromos “#101, 102, 105, 107, 109, 112, 118, 121, 165, 182,184, 186, 187, 188, 192, 219, 263, 264, 270, 271” – Inks: Distress “Squeezed lemonade, Mustard seed, Spiced marmalade, Worn lipstick, Shaded lilac, Wilted violet, Twisted citron” – Die: The greetery “Crimped frame”.

Just adding a message, not sure if you realise you have Captcha verification switched on but it makes commenting very difficult sometimes.
