Less is More #408 – That’s torn it !

Bonjour !

Quoi ?

Hello !

What ! It’s already November ? We have a new challenge for you over at Less is More, and the theme is “That’s torn it”. And who says new month, also says new sponsor (in both senses of the word. We have the great pleasure to have Catherine Pooler who will be our sponsor throughout November !

Today I only have two cards for you because as I told you earlier the time goes so fast that I thought I was still in October with Uniko as sponsor. I only realized yesterday my mistake and so I made a single card with Catherine Pooler’s products.

1/ Happy holidays

When I saw the theme, I immediately thought of torn Vellum paper to make snow. So I used these adorable snowmen from Create a Smile and the sketch of their current challenge to make this card.

I stamped and white heat embossed the snowmen on a round card stock, then I masked them as well as the bottom of the circle in order to make the blue gradient background with Distress inks.

I coloured the snowmen with colour pencils then I made the falling snow with a brush and white acrylic paint.

On another white card stock I made another bleu gradient, but this time with the equivalent Distress Oxide inks. Then I die cut a circle slightly bigger. I adhered the two circles on the double white card.

To illustrate the theme, I stamped and I white heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of torn Vellum. I also tore a piece of white tissue paper and I stuck them under the snowmen like two snowy mounds.

Stamp : Create a Smile “easy-breezy”, “Santa clumsy” (sentiment) – Inks: Distress “Tumbled glass, Shaded Lilac, Blueprint sketch”, Distress OX “Tumbled glass, Shaded lilac, Blueprint sketch” – Pencils : Faber-Castell Polychromos ‘ #113, 109, 123, 125, 121, 226, 154, 156, 230, 231″.

2/ Hello (using sponsor products)

I put red ink onto a strip of torn white paper by rubbing the ink directly onto the paper. Then I stamped the brick wall with darker red ink. I adhered this strip on a double black card.

On a scrap of white paper I stamped the image then I coloured it with colour pencils. I fussy cut it and I foam mounted it on the card.

To finish I die cut (x3) the sentiment and I glued it on the card.

Stamp : Catherine Pooler “Strolling borders”, Gerda Steiner “sneaky racoons” – Inks: Catherine Pooler “Samba”, Distress “Fired brick” – Pencils : Faber-Castell polychromos “#132, 129, 230, 232, 232, 233, 234, 235, 270, 271, 272, 273, 274, 275, 251, 199″.
