Carte/Card

Gerda Steiner, Create a Smile, SSS, MFT – Hearts Twofer cards

Bonjour !

Hello !

I was ready with one card for the Time Out challenge and ultimately, since there are hearts on it, I made a second card inspired by the AAA Birthday challenge, and which will allow me to enter the Twofer Card challenge who celebrates their second birthday, so Happy Birthday to Darnell and all her team !

First card

When I saw the inspirational photo of the Time Out challenge (as well as Anita’s in France card), I immediately thought of the die that I received for my birthday (thanks again Gundi !) representing this pretty hearts bouquet. I used it on a white paper and I coloured with markers. I took Anita’s idea, and I put Glossy Accent on the hearts.

To illustrate the large mirror, I used a tag, which I cut out from mirror paper and a second time from white paper. I hollowed out the center of the white one to make only one frame and I glued it on the other. Then I put on a gingham ribbon.

On the double white card, I stamped a stripe with bricks as the fire place ones on the photo. Then I adhered the tag on it as well as the sentiment previously die cut in black paper.

At the corner of the tag, I adhered the hearts bouquet with a glue dot so that  we can see the branches reflection in the mirror paper. I cut a small heart in a gingham Design Paper with a NBUS die that I received as a gift in a Winnie & Walter order if my memories are good. Then I glued it at the bottom of the bouquet. It is this little heart that is the common part in my two cards for the Twofer Card challenge.

Stamp : Catherine Pooler “Strolling borders” – Markers : Promarker “Poppy, Sandstone” – Die : SSS “Love”, Create a Smile “Lovely tags XS”, Winnie & Walter (little stitched heart) and the lovely hearts bouquet but I don’t know the brand.

Second card

For this second card, I used the small heart as a present that this adorable bear wears. I die cut the heart in a Design Paper with pink and blue hearts. Then I surrounded it with golden string to make it a gift.

Then I made the background of the shaker card on a white card stock. I made a gradient of blue colours with Distress inks. Then I adhered it on the double white card.

In a white card stock slightly smaller than the card I die cut a window with a heart shape die, I stamped the sentiment then I stuck a piece of acetate on the back side.

I adhered some foam adhesive tape over the card base to mark out where to put the pink hearts. I glued the top part with the window on top to enclose the sequins of the shaker card.

On a white card stock I stamped the bear, I coloured it with colour pencils, I fussy cut it and I glued it on the card. Normally on the stamp, this little bear holds a pumpkin, but I masked it because I wanted to insert the gift instead. So I only stamped the paws and I foam mounted them on top of the printed ones and the gift.

Stamp : Gerda Steiner “Pumpkin bear”, MFT “Polar bear pals” (sentiment) – Pencils : Faber-Castell Polychromos “#130, 131, 230, 231, 232, 233, 199” – Die : MFT “Stitched heart Peek-a-boo”, Winnie & Walter (little stitched heart) – Inks : Distress “Tumbled glass, Salty ocean, Chipped Sapphire”, CP “Suede shoes” – Embellishment : Little things from Lucy’s cards “Little hearts – Iridescent mix”.

  1. Love both of your cards! The elements in the first one are so pretty and the shaker card, oh I love the heart shaped shaker elements in the heart shaped shaker! Thanks for playing at AAA Birthday and good luck with the DT call!

  2. Both cards are gorgeous, the mirri card behind the bunch of heart-flowers makes the bouquet look twice as big! And I’m totally in awe of anyone who can make such gorgeous shaker cards.
