Vue sur le large – Brushos and rubber band technique

Bonjour !

Hello !

I could not resist playing with the current challenge at CAS Mix Up where the talented team of designers offers us a technique (brand new for me!) with rubber bands ! Demonstration videos to support !

When I watched the videos of this technique, I immediately thought of waves ( it may be my fascination for the blue colour and all that reports to the sea !). And there, bing, the idea of mixing this challenge with the CAS Watercolour challenge where the theme is “bird” came obvious and this card is the result of it.

For this technique, we can either use an acrylic block or a brayer, I used the brayer to be able to do curves.

I put three rubber bands on the brayer, I inked up with Versamark and I rolled in zigzag over a piece of mix media paper. Then I heat embossed with clear powder.

I sprinkled two shades of Brushos on the paper and sprayed water to mix the pigments. Then I let it dry.

To make the porthole, I used round dies and a puncher. I die cut two other circles that I adhered to the back of the porthole to add thickness.

I die cut the seagulls as well as the border of the white panel on which I stamped the sentiment.

I glued the image of the waves onto the white panel, then the seagulls on top of it and I adhered the porthole with glue dots. To finish, I foam mounted the panel onto the double card.

And voilà ! I love the marine spirit of this card. I can not wait to be at this summer !
